Dear Readers,
It has lots of names. Congress, festival, exhibition, conference. But what it boils down to is just one thing: a meeting. People meeting people. Even though, or perhaps because the world is becoming an increasingly digitalised place, many young people are hungry for face-to-face meetings. And they also want to design and shape those meetings. This is why the International Festival of Brand Experience (BrandEx) is aimed not only at a specialist audience from the exhibition, architecture and live communication business, but also and very specifically at creative young professionals.

Alongside a special programme for a young audience, the Festival is also presenting the BrandEx Fresh Award for the first time. The result of an amalgamation of the FAMAB NEW TALENT AWARD and the INA Award, the BrandEx Fresh Award has the potential to become the industry’s most important award scheme for young talents in Germany – an absolute career booster. The Award assignment? A realistic brief for a real customer: a sustainable start-up company that is looking for a cross-channel live campaign.
The jury line-up? Five prestigious representatives of customers, agencies and the media.
And the prize? An unforgettable trip to Sri Lanka with a visit to the start-up production site, where fair working conditions are guaranteed.

For bright young talents, this means: time for the professional brief that will take them to the next level of their career! Under #brandexfresh, they will be offered regular support with “fresh tips” on the brief, the award and the business.
Do you have talented young employees in your agency? Do you supervise a field of study related to design, communications or event management? Do you know young creatives who want to make a name for themselves? If so, please forward this e-mail to junior staff, students or young freelancers.

Kind regards,
The BrandEx Team

What does sustainability actually mean in live communication?
Ethletic – Sneakers from nature with love and a smile

Whether we’re talking about ecological footprint, mandatory CSR reporting or the carbon footprint of events: sustainability has not only reached the mainstream of society, it has also become an important aspect of live communications. Key concepts such as the three pillars of sustainability or formats such as the FAMAB Sustainability Summit offer important approaches in this context.
We consider this to be “extremely fresh” and in defining the assignment, have also chosen a brief provider that brings this credo to life: Ethletic.
Ethletic is a young, ambitious sneaker brand by Fair Deal Trading GmbH, which produces footwear made of Fairtrade organic cotton in a fair and sustainable way.
The Ethletic brand stands for maximum social and ecological responsibility. All of the brand’s shoes are 100% vegan and are produced in Pakistan under fair working conditions. Ethletic is committed to a welfare society beyond the requirements of Fairtrade, which ensures that a significant percentage of the purchase price goes towards the workers’ welfare associations of the production companies.
You can look forward to lots of fascinating and relevant topics! So grab your pen or switch on your computer and show us what fresh ideas and plans you can come up with on the subject!

With BrandEx Fresh to Sri Lanka

Winners are rewarded with exceptional prizes. Go on, give it a go!

The BrandEx Fresh Award are not only interesting in terms of the subject matter. Winners will also get broadindustry exposure at the award ceremony in January and can look forward to some fantastic prizes.
BrandEx Fresh brief provider Ethletic is a producer of vegan fair trade sneakers, which are also the key theme of the brief. The company is sponsoring a trip to Sri Lanka for one person from each of the three groups of winners, and as a bonus prize, will provide Ethletic sneakers for all winners.

The trip will take place in early February 2019. One representative from each of the three winning teams will spend one week in Sri Lanka. Together with the Ethletic team, they will visit a sustainable rubber plantation and Ethletic’s local sneaker and flip flop production site. Winners will be provided with food and accommodation at a beach lodgein Unawatuna.

The brief provider looks forward “to showing Award winners how and where Ethletic works and what sustainability means for the brand. Ethletic takes every opportunity it has to introduce opinion leaders from our cultural sphere to producers and their families so that they can bring home their impressions of these cultures, living conditions and messages.”
A surprise is also in store for the other members of the winning groups!
