The International Festival of Brand Experience will take place again in 2023.

The Festival takes place in Dortmund. The address is: Rheinlanddamm 200, 44139 Dortmund.

Arriving by car

Direct connection via the B1 (A40) to motorways A1 (Hansalinie), A45 (Sauerlandlinie), A2 (Berlin – Hanover – Dortmund – Oberhausen), A42 (Duisburg – Dortmund), B1 (A44) (Dortmund – Kassel).

Follow the signs to Dortmund. The Westfalenhallen is signposted on the motorway. For more details, see motorway map.

Parking facilities for approx. 8,800 cars and buses are available in the immediate vicinity. The parking fee per car is € 7 on all parking areas.

Park & Ride

Convenient Park & Ride facilities are available throughout the city. Park here and continue your journey by public transport.

Accessibility of halls

The whole of Westfalenhallen Dortmund is wheelchair-accessible. Halls 4 to 8 are interconnected and on ground level. The upper halls (2, 2U, 2N, 3A, 3B) can be reached by lift. Barrier-free sanitary facilities are available in all halls.

Wheelchair service

Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the porter against payment of a deposit. (Remember that only a small number of wheelchairs are available.)

Sanitary facilities

Toilets for the disabled are located in the entrance area of Messe-Forum and in the entrance to Messe West.

BrandEx Award: Participation and submissions

The BrandEx Award is open to all project participants (customer, agency, partner) provided that they hold the rights of use and exploitation or have had them transferred. They must specify who is responsible for the concept.

Projects must have taken place between 1 January 2021 and 30 September 2022.
The deadline for submission is 06 October 2022.
Please note that the submission must be made in English.

No, you can work on a submission over a period of several days. Just make sure that you save entries after each step. Online sessions automatically end after 30-45 minutes, depending on browser, so it is advisable to write texts for the concept guidelines beforehand in offline mode and then copy and paste them into the form. The permissible number of characters (see checklists and lists in the download section on the right) includes spacing but excludes paragraphs.

Participants can compete for the coveted trophies in a total of 18 categories at the international BrandEx Award.
Entries are possible in the main segments “EVENT”, “ARCHITECTURE” and “FRESH”.

For the “EVENT” segment, the categories “Best Brand Activation”, “Best Live PR”, “Best Motivation/Employee Event”, “Best Corporate Event”, “Best Conference”, “Best Digital”, “Best Execution” and “Best Formats” have been defined.

The “ARCHITECTURE” segment is divided into the categories “Best Stand”, “Best Brand Architecture”, “Best Thematic Exhibition”, “Best Store Concept”, “Best Digital”, “Best Execution” and “Best Formats”. In the “Best Stand” segment, participants can submit their entries in the formats “S”, “M” and “L” according to the size of the project.

There is also the BrandEx FRESH Award for young talents.

Yes, a project can be entered several times but only once per sub-category.
Example: Exhibition stand A is entered in the category ARCHITECTURE. The opening event for this exhibition stand is also entered in the category EVENT etc.

Each uploaded project is subject to a fee.

There is only 1 submission stage!  The participation fee is:

Early-Bird, until 31 August 2022 >> 550,00 EUR
Until 30 September 2022 >> 750,00 EUR
Until 06 October 2022 >> 800,00 EUR

In the event of a win, additional fees of 550.00 EUR will be charged.

Submissions for the BrandEx FRESH Award are free of charge!

After the data has been sent, changes can only be made by the BrandEx team and are subject to a charge.
For complex changes (exchange of films or regrouping into other categories) we charge 90.00 EUR plus VAT and for minor changes (exchange of images, textual adjustments) 50.00 EUR plus VAT.

Remember that the uploaded film will be shown online on our website and on YouTube over a longer period of time. If you are nominated, it will also be shown at the Awards ceremony. Either use material that is not subject to GEMA conditions or register music accordingly. The costs must be covered by the entrants.

You can produce the entry poster yourself or have it made by a service provider of your choice. As an option, we are happy to offer you full service in this regard: simply upload your printable PDF here let us print and deliver your entry poster. Should you have us produce the poster, the price for the poster including printing is € 28.00 plus € 9.20 shipping plus VAT (delivery directly to the event). The invoice will be sent to you separately.

BrandEx FRESH Award: Participation and submissions

The BrandEx Fresh Award honours the work of young talents in the industry.
For this purpose, works can be submitted free of charge in two categories on the basis of a briefing.

The BrandEx FRESH Award is the young talent award for the live communication industry.
It is primarily aimed at students, young freelancers and juniors from agencies and companies.

BrandEx Award: Jury and Judging

The interdisciplinary jury meets in Oktober and is made up of customers, agency representatives, architects, trade fair design and construction companies and other industry specialists.

Immediately after the jury meetings, all entrants will be notified in writing about if they won an award. All winners will be awarded their places at the BrandEx Award Show in January 2023.

The jury assesses creativity and implementation success. The main criteria are creation, realisation and sustainability. You can download the detailed judging criteria for each category here.

In the main categories ARCHITECTURE, EVENT, FORMATS, PLANNING/CRAFT/PRODUCTION and CROSSMEDIA, gold, silver and bronze prizes are awarded. The prizes will be awarded according to the Olympic principle.

All winners also receive certificates for themselves and for their customers/partners as indicated on the entry form.
