E-world energy & water is the annual gathering of international decision makers from the energy sector. In June 2022 the fair was allowed to turn „live“ again. However, the demands and expectations of trade visitors have fundamentally changed since then. EON's appearance therefore focused on the growing need for personal conversations and individual experiences. It deliberately broke with the conventions of a trade fair stand and at first glance resembled an art exhibition. The timeless principle of a gallery was specifically transferred to the stand architecture. Large-format wall panels in an orthogonal order structured the area and at the same time became iconic object carriers. A place to explore. The existing initiative #ActionForClimate provided the programmatic umbrella for the apparent special exhibition. All content and motifs were curated for that occasion and used proven stylistic devices from the context of exhibited art on display. Selected portraits from the current Changemaker campaign around Reinhold Messner provided the figurative setting. Inside the exhibition, innovations and achievements were substantiated and deepened. The visiting experience ended with the personal invitation to join the #Changemaker community. With the resolute presence, EON shows a direction in which trade fairs may develop in the near future: Event- or topic-related gatherings of companies / corporations whose individual brand appearances can be based on a wide variety of formats. As long as they promote conversations and create meaning and are more than a traditional exhibition.
