Concept Summary

Brillux at the FAF Schendel & Pawlaczyk were commissioned by their customer Brillux to realise a stand at the Facade Design & Interior Architecture 2019 (FAF) fair in Cologne that would function entirely without presentation of the company’s products. In place of this, the remit for the 1500 m2 stand was to orchestrate the Brillux recruitment initiative ‘Your future is colourful’, the Brillux Academy and its forward-looking objectives of recruitment, advancement and career development for trainees. The concept builds on the keyword ‘multifaceted’. The various different meanings of the word were fully exploited. The polygonal shapes represented the varied facets of the painter’s craft and, at the same time, symbolised the facets of a diamond whose refraction of light creates an enormous colour spectrum. The stand was subdivided into individual areas. The area ‘Your future is colourful’ addressed school leavers and other interested parties wishing to discover more about a career as a painter and decorator, varnisher or plasterer. At the stand, the show truck, otherwise on tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland, attracted visitors like a magnet. The ‘Trainee Academy’ addressed current and future trainees. Visitors were able to listen to industry-relevant lectures in the Auditorium and find information about the current Brillux Academy seminar programme in the ‘Diamond’. The stand also provided a Communication Area and an Information Counter. Feedback from numerous visitors, both personally and in social media channels, expressly praised this courageous concept without products and the company's commitment to the recruitment and advancement of trainees.
