The International Festival of Brand Experience takes place on 14 January 2020 at the Westfalenhallen Dortmund.

Arriving by car
Direct connection via the B1 (A40) to motorways A1 (Hansalinie), A45 (Sauerlandlinie), A2 (Berlin – Hanover – Dortmund – Oberhausen), A42 (Duisburg – Dortmund), B1 (A44) (Dortmund – Kassel).

Accessibility of halls
The whole of Westfalenhallen Dortmund is wheelchair-accessible. Halls 4 to 8 are interconnected and on ground level. The upper halls (2, 2U, 2N, 3A, 3B) can be reached by lift. Barrier-free sanitary facilities are available in all halls.
Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the porter against payment of a deposit. (Remember that only a small number of wheelchairs are available.)
Toilets for the disabled are located in the entrance area of Messe-Forum and in the entrance to Messe West.
The BrandEx Award is open to all project participants (customer, agency, partner) provided that they hold the rights of use and exploitation or have had them transferred. They must specify who is responsible for the concept.
Projects should have taken place between 1 January 2018 and 30 June 2019.
The submission deadline is 01 July 2019.

No, you can work on a submission over a period of several days. Just make sure that you save entries after each step. Online sessions automatically end after 30-45 minutes, depending on browser, so it is advisable to write texts for the concept guidelines beforehand in offline mode and then copy and paste them into the form. The permissible number of characters (see checklists and lists in the download section on the right) includes spacing but excludes paragraphs.
You can submit your winning project to the categories ARCHITECTURE, EVENT, CROSSMEDIA or PLANNING, CRAFT, PRODUCTION with a total of 15 sub-categories. The FRESH Award is open to submissions from young entrants. You can find a list of the categories here.
All live marketing campaigns such as trade shows, exhibitions, events, PR activities, digital campaigns – including sub-sections of these campaigns – can be submitted. You can find a list of categories here.
Yes, a project can be entered several times but only once per sub-category.
Example: Exhibition stand A is entered in the category ARCHITECTURE. The opening event for this exhibition stand is also entered in the category EVENT, a technical service can be entered in PLANNING, CRAFT, PRODUCTION, etc.
Each uploaded project is subject to a fee.
Step 1: The participation fee is € 250,00 plus VAT per project. The submission deadline is 01 July 2019. For submissions from abroad we reserve the right to charge a bank fee of € 15.00.
Step 2: Projects that make it to the nominee list are subject to a further fee of € 480.00 plus VAT.
Profit: If you win a BrandEx Award, we reserve the right to charge a fee of € 1,250.00 plus VAT. The winning fee includes a festival ticket worth € 700.00. Nominees receive discounted ticket conditions.
FAMAB members receive a discount of 50,00 EUR per step.
Entries for the BrandEx FRESH Award are free of charge!
Corrections made after final submission of the documents by the Festival office are subject to a fee of € 90,00 net (for example if film material is replaced, or the project is re-categorised); if only minor changes are made, for example if an image is replaced or the text edited, we charge a fee of € 50,00 net.
For submissions from abroad, we reserve the right to charge € 15,00 to cover bank fees.
Please note that if you reach the nominee longlist and win a BrandEx Award, an additional fee of € 480.00 plus VAT or € 1250.00 plus VAT will be charged.
Remember that the uploaded film will be shown online on our website and on YouTube over a longer period of time. If you are nominated, it will also be shown at the Awards ceremony. Either use material that is not subject to GEMA conditions or register music accordingly. The costs must be covered by the entrants.

The BrandEx FRESH Award is the young talent award for the live communication industry.
Best Fresh Juniors: The category for young professionals in communication agencies and marketing departments as well as freelancers with max. two years of professional experience. Alone or in a team with max. 5 participants.
Best Fresh Students: The category for all students interested in Brand Experiences. Whether design- and communication-oriented, technical, business or humanities studies. Alone or in a team with a maximum of 5 participants.
No, the BrandEx FRESH Award is free of charge and not bound to any project periods.

The interdisciplinary jury meets in Oktober and is made up of customers, agency representatives, architects, trade fair design and construction companies and other industry specialists.
Immediately after the jury meetings, all entrants will be notified in writing about if they won an award. All winners will be awarded their places at the BrandEx Award Show on 14 January 2020.
The jury assesses creativity and implementation success. The main criteria are creation, realisation and sustainability. You can download the detailed judging criteria for each category here.
In the main categories ARCHITECTURE, EVENT, PLANNING/CRAFT/PRODUCTION and CROSSMEDIA, gold, silver and bronze prizes are awarded. The prizes will be awarded according to the Olympic principle.
All winners also receive certificates for themselves and for their customers/partners as indicated on the entry form.
